This complete system includes two WingBar Edge crossbars and four Edge Raised Rail feet that attach directly to raised rails on your vehicle’s roof. You can add Thule One-Key System locks (sold separately) to help deter theft of both the rack and your channel-mounted gear. Hey, how's it going Today we're gonna take a look at the Thule WingBar Edge and see how well it fits on our 2024 Volkswagen Taos. Now having a compact SUV, you already know that you're gonna have limited cargo area, so this is gonna let you take advantage of that negative space. So you can add a cargo basket, cargo box, maybe a bike carrier, kayak carrier, who knows, it's wide open. So let's take a look and see how well it fits on our vehicle. Right off the bat, what jumps out to me on this is the lower profile. You're gonna be able to still be able to get the clearance around this to work with most rooftop accessories and still maintain that nice sleek look that you go for if you honestly select in a Volkswagen.
Now with the plastics themselves, they're gonna hold up against the elements, just like the plastics on your vehicle. They're made of the exact same materials. Each one of the feet are gonna have a label on the inside of the door that lets you know if it's gonna go on the driver or the passenger side, making it super easy. And if you go with the single key system from Thule you'll be able to switch it out to a lock core for all your tooling accessories. Your crossbars have a weight capacity right at 165, however you want to focus on your manufacturer's recommended weight capacity.
The straps that you're gonna receive, they just wrap around and contour around your raised rail. This is gonna be one of the easier setups for your crossbar. Only thing you really need that's not included is a tape measure unless you're gonna eyeball it and just kind of fill it out. Now, if you want to go off of vibes, you're good to go. Otherwise, grab you a tape measure and we'll get you set up.
You are gonna start by inserting your spring into the slot on your wing bar, and it's designed to drop right in where it won't go too deep, and you're gonna grab your foot and you can align it your spring with this opening right here, this circle. And it'll snap right into place. And this is what's gonna give you the resistance to press against the side. Once you get that together, you see it snaps in and then it locks into place. From here you're gonna add your strap.
Now your strap is gonna have a designated number as far as how far it should go into the bottom part of the foot. And on this guy I went with two. And you're just gonna insert it in the slot and wait for it and feel for it to catch. There we go. And you can pull to hook. And then from here, we're just gonna take it right to the top. I'm gonna reach over about where I would like it positioned and rest it on the raised rail and press it right here. Now I'm gonna grab my tape measure and make sure that I'm spaced out how I need it for my accessory. But as long as you're 28 inches or 700 millimeter spread, you're good to go. And that's one of the great things about raised rails. You're not locked into fixed points. Now that I measured for my spread, I'm gonna actually take my strap and feed it underneath. Now remember, our springs are gonna let us push in and it'll pull it right back across. And then we're gonna take the loops here and drop it on the two hooks in the center. Now we can double check again to make sure our spread is okay. I'm pretty sure it is. And now we're gonna use our included torque wrench. Now one thing to keep in mind with this is as you tighten down, it's gonna pull on both sides. So once you get a little tension right here, I'm gonna go over to the passenger side and kind of go back and forth until I get it completely tight. Alright, now that I hear my click to let me know that I'm torqued down, we're gonna take these two hooks here and drop it right in on top and it'll just snap right into place. Now if you added the steel lock cores, you would drop those in. Alternatively, you can use the plastic cores and that'll give you some measure of security. And now you're good to go. Now, when you're looking for an accessory like this, it's hard to find something that measures up to everything that you hope that it'll do. And this guy checks all of your boxes. It has a nice OEM look, it's lightweight and it can reduce the wind noise versus other styles. And actually, I think it'll be pretty cool if you show us how it looks on your vehicle, show us your load out, show us where you're going, 'cause we love having that interaction with you. Kit fit great. shipping was supposed to be overnight but ups didn’t do their job. Really nice kit easy to install high quality
For XXX bucks I thought it would include the keys. Not plastic plugs. Instructions say it should have key. They even talk about how to store the key. My advice to anyone is buy it directly from dealer.
One year in, this fit kit and the whole system have worked very well on my Kia EV6.
I miss the simplicity, in terms of cost as well as installation and removal, of the old Thule rectangular-bar racks, but this system looks better, is quiet, won't sag, and seems more robust.
Initially I was worried that I good not get a good Roof Rack configuration to match my 2022 Kia Telluride. When I asked etrailer for some assistance on the configuration, Jon was quick to reply with an excellent solution. He definitely knew the products. Unfortunately, my initial shipment was damaged but Gwen and team quickly got me replacements in the mail. I have received and installed all components and couldn't be more satisfied.
Directions were easy to follow and I was able to put the rack on my 2024 Lexus RXh in about 30 minutes.
This "fit kit" from THULE does not impress me much. It does not sit flush with the roof rails of my 2021 Toyota highlander, doesn't really line up with the openings on the flush mount rails, and only attaches to the vehicle via one bolt at each of the 4 mounting locations. In that sense it's inferior to even the OEM toyota roof rack mount.

Put this on a 2025 Audi A6 Allroad. Seems very well built/sturdy. Looks great as well. Ni wind noise on highway. Fits my vehicle very well except that sunroof cannot open once in place. Maybe that is assumed with these type of things but still would have been nice to know in advance. Come with two different length cross bars but there is no mention of this in the instruction so no clear what the intended positioning is or if there is preference( i.e. longer one in front, shorter in back.
Overall seems like a great product that I look forward to using in the years to come.
Niiiiiice! Is what we say when we see the car now. The roof rack is well built. Instructions were easy- the letter specification to tighten the rack were a bit much. We had to adjust based on how things looked and jived with the car. Some soft cushion edging would not flush over the roof indentation edge, so we had to re-loosen and tighten the rack few times until all settled well. Bottom line, we wanted a solid rack that did not have overhang, did what it is suppose to, was low profile, and make the car look hot- check!!!! We are very happy! Best part about the entire experience however is etrailer. I swear, one might never need customer service or any help with their purchase, until they do. And what a customer service it is. Wow. It’s worth returning to etrailer for more business, purely because you want this business to do well and to remain in business and to show them how much we appreciate their excellent customer service.

Congrats on your new Benz! Sounds like a fun and exciting Christmas morning. I'm only slightly jealous of that tandem bike, I've always wanted to ride one.
